Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home by using a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined household profits will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside here their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to research in a general public university or TVET here college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and nsfas 2025 avoid delays in the processing of their application.
